The most important role that history plays is that it has the function of telling a people where they still must go and what they still must be." -Dr. John Henrick Clarke When great historical scholars pass on to the ancestor realm, I have often wondered who will take up the important work of continuing to educate the people and bring forth the truth that corrects the errors of a racist past when it comes to world history relating to Africa. There are still many myths to be dispelled.
Before I visited Egypt this year I went through my home library and made a stack of all the books on Kmt that I hadn't read and two books stood out as, "it's about time to read these...", The Traveler's Guide to Ancient Egypt by the great John Anthony West (RIP 2018) and Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization by Anthony Browder.
Having gone on the Egypt on the Potomac Tour in Washington, DC a few years back, I knew the seriousness of the author's intention to provide the truth about the greatest civilization known to man.
I like everything about this book. It is a good refresher and easy to read.
Some of the highlights that made Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization a goodread and reference guide to Kmt includes the way Browder included the original names of ancient temples and cities such as Luxor was originally called Waset and the Temple at Karnak is the Ipet Isut.
The method of presentation was also a plus in how the author arranged the info by not just highlighting Nile Valley greatness at the beginning of the book but he made sure that every part through the end had mind blowing facts from antiquity to today's culture. Some choice interesting facts that I took note of include:
-Egypt is written 740 times in the Old Testament of the Bible.
-"A careful study of the events which led to the creation of the United States of America reveals an attempt by white males of European ancestry to recreate in the new world the spiritual essence that once existed in the Nile Valley."
-This sign is in the Jalapa Museum of Anthropology in the Mexican city of Jalapa, Mexico.
" 'Attention Mexicans: This is the root of your history, its cradle and its altar. Listen to the most silent voices of the most ancient culture in Mexico... The Olmecs converted rain into harvest, the sun into a calendar, stone into sculpture, cotton into cloth, pilgrimage into commerce, mountains into thrones, jaguars into religion and men into gods.' "
Nice tidbits like these are throughout the book. If you are homeschooling teenagers, this book would be an excellent addition to World History class.
Nile Valley Contributions to Civilization was first copyrighted in 1992 and today in 2018 Anthony Browder is still hard at work in ensuring the history of the "Stolen Legacy" is returned to its original owners. Currently he is working on an Egyptian excavation site and continuing to uncover African greatness.
